This is my first blog post of 2015! Yay!! I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what to write. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been inspired by a lot of things. Today however, thanks to Life and Relationship Expert, Cheyenne Bostock, I’ve not only been inspired, but moved. Break Every Chain…what a fitting way to begin 2015.
Life and Relationship Expert, Cheyenne Bostock, shared with me his video entitled #BreakEveryChain. The video is titled after his recently released book, “Break Every Chain: Hope For Our Men.” This inspiring video emphasized the importance of taking control of your life through confronting everything life has thrown at you!
We are complex individuals resulting in complex relationships and complex lives. We tend to allow life circumstances to serve as chains binding us in a place of stagnation, hurt, and confusion. While watching this video it became evident the power that lies in confrontation. Not confrontation in the negative sense, but in the sense of confronting and dealing with life as it is…the good, the bad, and the ugly. Three things came to mind after watching this video:
Choice. It’s a simple word that holds a lot of POWER! We all have the freedom of choice. After confronting and assessing your life patterns and circumstances, you are in position to make choices that will result in the life you want and deserve. Once you understand what makes up the chains that keep you bound, you are better equipped to break them!
The message of “Break Every Chain” applies to everyone. Each one of us have “chains” in our lives. Our “chains” may be spiritual, emotional, physical, or mental. But, with all the recent events that has intensified the systematic destruction of our black boys and men, not to mention the struggles that arise with single parent homes and mentors being far and in between, Cheyenne’s focus on our men through the #BreakEveryChain Movement is truly refreshing.
The purpose of this blog is to encourage my readers to live their gift; to live their lives with purpose and passion. However, you cannot discover your gifts, use your gifts, or enjoy your gifts while being bound by the chains and shackles of life. With that being said, I felt like it would be remiss of me to not share the #BreakEveryChain Movement with you.
As we begin this new year, I want us all to break chains daily. I want us to live freely and be uninhibited as we journey toward achieving our dreams and goals. I have to admit, while watching Cheyenne’s #BreakEveryChain video I was surprised at how much insight was packed into just a few minutes. I encourage each of you to watch and share! I also encourage you to join the #BreakEveryChain Movement; you can click here for more details! Even though I have yet to read “Break Every Chain,” after watching this video, it has definitely been added to my reading list! Thank you Cheyenne for reaching out to me and sharing your gift!
